Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 17, 2026
OpenIntent is a screen time management app that uses your iPhone's motion sensors to verify squat exercises. We are committed to protecting your privacy and processing data on device.
Data We Collect
Motion Data
OpenIntent reads accelerometer and gyroscope data during squat sessions to verify phone stability and detect movement patterns. Motion data is processed in real time and is not persisted beyond the active session.
Screen Time Data
You choose specific apps in Apple's FamilyActivityPicker. OpenIntent stores those selections locally as opaque tokens, plus local app-name snapshots used only to keep the UI and shield copy specific to the selected app.
Onboarding Profile
Current screen-time estimate, target screen-time estimate, and distracting-app examples may be used in memory during onboarding. They are not retained as a saved profile after onboarding completes.
Data We Do Not Collect
- No personal identification information is required.
- No camera footage or video recordings are captured, saved, or uploaded in the current version.
- No browsing history, location data, contacts, photos, or files are collected.
- No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are used.
On-Device Processing
Motion analysis uses CoreMotion on your iPhone. App protection uses Apple's FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks. In the current version, no motion scoring or protected-app selection data is sent to an external server.
Your Choices
You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored data, reset onboarding in app settings, or revoke motion, notification, or Screen Time permissions in iOS Settings.
Children's Privacy
OpenIntent is not directed at children under 13. The app requires Screen Time authorization for individual use and is not a parental-control product.
